If you missed it live, and likely did if you live in North America, now is your chance to relive one of the brightest stars Awesome Games Done Quick, a charity Marathon which raised over $1 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

Monopoli not only impressed and entertained with this stunner of a run, but was single-handedly responsible for redeeming the Halo series in the eyes of speed runners world wide, and may well have caused recent upsurge in the number of halo speed runners at Twitch.tv.

Informative commentary is given by fellow Halo speed runner Reed Tiburon.

Watch speed runner Jared Minnihan (Blueglass) a.k.a. YSG (Yellow Shirt Guy) subtly infiltrate the couch and become part of the evening’s entertainment.

This is a must-watch speed run of the highest order.

Yet another single segment run from me! This time, I’ve finally gotten around to finishing my very old Halo 2 run, a project that has been in the making for almost 8 years. I finished this run a very long time ago, but the VHS tape I recorded it on never made it to NOKYARD for capturing. After I finished my Halo 3 single segment, I thought it would be nice to take a break from Halo 1, and focus on getting this done. And I did!

This run beats a total of SIX world record runs and ties another. You’ll find little mistakes throughout, but overall, I thought this run was superb. This bests my current world record for single segment that I set during my charity marathon (1:27:00) by over 4 minutes. I’m very happy to finally see this done. Please enjoy!

Final times:

Cairo Station: 4:48 (WR!)
Outskirts: 4:21 (WR!)
Metropolis: 4:26 (Tie)
Arbiter: 3:59
Oracle: 13:09
Delta Halo: 3:41
Regret: 9:53 (WR!)
Sacred Icon: 8:11 (Slow ._.)
Quarantine Zone: 7:55 (WR!)
Gravemind: 9:22 (WR!)
Uprising: 2:01
High Charity: 4:00
The Great Journey: 7:11

1:22:57 (if my timing is accurate and I added all the times properly)
NOTE: I cut out Heretic and Armory just to make the video more youtube friendly.

Knocks 1 minute 49 seconds off the old record. Jester is featured on the left screen while Zenexer is on the right.

This is a rather simple speedrun of the level “Uprising” from Halo 2 on Legendary difficulty. Since the console I was using for this run has the latest patch (1.5) no sword flying glitches were used, but sword canceling was.

From Mr Monopoli

Over at jumprs.org we have been doing some Halo 2 SLASO. It is pretty tough, but I currently have 5 levels done. Check them out and let me know what you think. Also, don’t be afraid to join in on the fun

High Speed Halo decided years ago to not accept Halo 2 SLASO runs because proving activated skulls requires either an honour rule, or an extremely tedious (and easily fooled) verification system. Instead, we point you in the direction of JUMPRS.ORG where Grumpy has issued the challenge, and some very familiar faces have responded.

As of Aug 4, 2011 they have completed these runs:

Outskirts: 7:11

Metropolis: 7:11

Delta Halo: 5:21

Uprising: 2:18

Quarantine Zone: 8:15

Gravemind: 27:34

Happy Bungie Day!

To celebrate Bungie Day 2011 High Speed Halo Presents an amazing feat of running prowess and flexibility. Mr Monopoli (runner up in the Tower To Tower race) has completed the monumental task of sweeping the entire Halo 2 Single Player Legendary category, knocking down records held by runners such as Matt Clarkson, Cody Miller, scurty, and NOKYARD. Only 3 of the runs have been previously released; Delta Halo, Quarantine Zone, and The Great Journey, were posted last September, the remaining runs are new.

The cumulative time for Halo 2 Single Player Legendary is now an outstanding 1:48:35!

This beats the previous record set by me and Dogg Otter on highspeedhalo.net. It beats the old run by 44 seconds and has no deaths. The end though is pretty bad, me and my step bro only see each other once every two weeks so we practised this over a long time, but eventually we kept dying nearer the end of the level, so we just played it safe and mowed everyone down. We could perfect it, but it was frustrating spending every weekend going over and over. Anyway, enjoy.

The capture card I used is hooked up to my VHS player on the higher setting, so its quality is that of a VHS tape (still, compared to my other runs picture quality, it is a lot better!). Anyway, here you go Evazier, after months of toil! (Man I hate Halo 2 legendary co-op mechanics…)
