Do you get a checkpoint somewhere in the first barrier tower?
Edit: Nevermind, found it out myself. You don't.
Also incase anyone wants to know I'm not even in the tower and I'm 15 seconds in front of Cheeseliker's time.

Do you think there would be a way to do a box launch from either the beginning to the end of Chapter 4 or the other way?

You can box launch in the last area of Covenant, you get more distance with cowbell (the entire length of the room) but you can do several small ones if you are good at box launching.

Chapter 1 done in 2:53(3 segments, could've been 2, but ohh well) 1 second in front of the normal record.
Didn't get the invincibility, so that's gonna cost me 1-2 second(s) in the start of chapter 2.
Films will be uploaded onto my fileshare(DaAssault)

I just got done doing chapter 2 and 3( don't know the time yet ), might have to re-do it though because it seemed rather sloppy with movement.
Is there anything I'm missing in my 'route'? Also give me some pointers for chapter 4
Chapter 1:
Kill brute with laser, go through the middle, jump up to next the right turret, laser the brute with FRG, then finish the fight.
Kill the guy in the mongoose in the pelican(not too early or the mongoose will be stuck in the pelican), follow the road, take the ghost, go over the little hill on the right of the entrance of the tower(might be faster to go over the prowlers, but I don't think that's possible without dieing afterwards)
Enter the tower, go to the left, jump up to the 2nd floor, go on the platform, do the fight and get the invincibility off of the Chief brute guy.
Chapter 2:
Go down, drive to the hornets with the goose, take the hornet to the other tower, take right entrance, pick up a brute shot, use the brute shot to jump up the left side like in the first chapter(I used the camo here)fight happens.
Chapter 3:
Escape the tower, driving sequence, go to the hornets and ride with the one in the back, kill all the enemys on the first scarab the AI decides to make you do, then take the hornet from the AI, fly over to the 2nd scarab and destroy it, pick up a ghost, go over the light bridge.

Warthog was tested to be faster when driving to the hornets in chapter two.
In chapter three after the scarabs you should get a warthog so you can go under the door and save atleast 5 seconds. Might be possible with another vehicle but easiest with the warthog. If you don't know how to do this trick look up the covenant speedruns.

Ty, I'll probably re-do the run, but I'll atleast check what my time was at the end of chapter 3 so I have comparable time.
EDIT: Is the cutscene between chapter 3 and 4 skippable? Cause when I got it I mashed every button on my controller, but it never skipped it.

You can only skip part of that cut scene.

Ok, yeah it took a while for it to get skipped, it's just that the easy speedrun skipped the entire cutscene I think, might be mistaken though.

If you saved the hammer( which you should) you can smack a ghost through the door also skipping a good amount of time if You cant find the warthog

I think getting the Beam Rifle in Chapter 1(which takes about 2~3 seconds) makes both tower fights a little faster since it one shots the normal brutes and 3shots the other one.

Hi when I run The Covenant I use a different path and thought I might put it up. I would run this but I dont have LIVE. Hope you can use it.
Chapter 1
Laser 1st Brute, the two turrents, and the Maulers, Fancy Footwork with Brute Chief. Replace Laser with a full Laser and juggle the BR and FRG to the Pelican. Kill Moongoose man grab FRG and drive to Ghost and enter First Tower. Jump on Crates grab Power Drain go up the tower. Throw Power Drain, Laser Brute Chief and FRG everyone else. Replace FRG with Hammer and grab Invincibility.
Chapter 2
Get down First Tower use Invincibility and stroll path enemies. Grab Camo and go on a joyride in the Hog. Get to Hornet and fly to the Third Tower. I use a Plasma Gernade Hammer Jump into left side. Laser Brute Chief and Hammer/Gernade the rest.
Chapter 3
Hammer your way out of Third Tower and grab goose. Drive to the Hornets. Kill Left Scarab in Hornet and Right Scarab on on foot. Grab a Gauss Hog, wait for Light Bridge, Hammer the Hog into the building. Glitch Cutsence with Cortana Moment allowing you to skip it.
Chapter 4
You will still have the Cortana Moments but have full speed.(saves about 10 seconds) Kill Grunts that have FRG and exchange the near empty Hammer for FRG. FRG jump onto the top of the room and Laser Brute Chief and the other near him on the roof. I use Camo to sneak around Brutes and exchange empty Laser with Hammer and grab Invincibility for Cortana level. I run through the room and hit the button. I gernade doors and FRG jump over the rooms. Gernade volly (or FRG volly) the enemy in the room when they get out.

I'm assuming Nokyard and RC are now doing this mission?
I'm sorry for kinda dissappearing, school's been a bitch, but I might do a Crow's Nest run if possible.

So is grabbing the ghost at the start really worth it? Like it deloads after the tower battle. When you have the hog it's right at the entrance once you leave the tower and you can leave quickly. Also I was thinking instead of driving around up the trail with the hog when going to the hornies you could drive straight forward launch the hog up the side of the cliff then drive off. I think it'll save some time.
