You might be forgiven for thinking you’ve already seen this run before here on HSH. It is indeed very similar to this duo’s run of the same level on Easy difficulty. But no, its a different run. This time on Normal difficulty.

The increased increased health means the Covenant aren’t quite as easy to put down as they were, which gives them a little bit of extra trouble in their spawn killing antics in the final area. Nevertheless, their loadzone manipulations have already got them most of the way there, and they end up only 2 seconds off their Easy time and still remain neatly under 4 minutes.

With this 3:59 run by Ensnared Cadaver and BishopOfAngst, there is only one co-op slot remaining for this level: Legendary!

EnsnardedCadaver and BishopOfAngst tag-team their way through Kizingo Blvd. on Easy, with tricks abound!

While EnsnaredCadaver is loading up on high powered weaponry and vehicles, BishopOfAngst books it through the streets on a stolen Ghost; teleporting his partner ahead at precise intervals. When EnsnaredCadaver grabs a Scorpion, they teleport the entire thing a couple of hundred metres up the bulevard; straight through a closed door!

After a breif instance of team killing some Marines (its all in the name of speed), they lure a Banshee down a side-alley and work around Bungie’s anti-hijack restriction to pilot the craft. Stolen vehicle in possession, EnsnaredCadaver squeezes it through the invisible barriers to bypass the Wraith engagement entirely and then triggers the final waves of Phantoms to drop into the courtyard.

With an explosive mix of BishopOfAngst’s Rockets and EnsnaredCadver’s Banshee bomb, nothing lasts more than a couple of seconds after it hits the ground. The level is over in just 3:57.

That is a nice ride Dutch. I especially like the exploding effect….

Ensnared Cadaver is back again today with a new solo run of Kizingo Bulevard, showing that the Banshee trick is not just for co-op runs. When we start doing Full Path runs for ODST, we’ll definitely have to ban this now. :)

Again, he goes straight to the Ghost at the start, but this time, theres no Scorpion action at all. He races along, stopping only briefly to pick up a Beam Rifle (you’ll see what its for). Then, charging right down the ramp to the second pair of Wraiths, he spawns the Banshees to come gunning for him. He makes a mean but, purposeful, double team kill on some Marines to cut their chatter short, then lures one of the Banshees into a corner to steal it.

He flies straight over the wall into the rally point, then lays waste to the landing parties from the sky. Too damn easy just got even easier.

This new run improves the old time by 45 seconds. Which on a level which was already under 5 minutes, is very impressive.
